I'm blocking Sylvi today - yay very exciting but its very cold here so it will take a while to dry - boo! Unfortunately the photos don't do it justice but I hope you can see the cables on the back...

Nearly done!

My Sylvi is nearly done. I have finished the front panels and am debating with myself whether or not I want to put a collar on it or the hood as per the pattern...

I had a sudden panic the last couple of days when I realised I hadn't bought any buttons or clasps to put on the finished garment but I have now ordered some from the US over the internet from this website I have ordered the Pewter Button 11 and the matching Pewter Clasp B. Hopefully this should echo the flowers on the back of the garment.

Brrrr!!

The dolls have been going down a storm at the kids 3rd birthday parties which I'm pleased about.

Winter is most definitely here!! We usually only get a couple of frosts a year but it seems to be an almost daily occurence the last month or so. This is our frosty garden this morning!

So knitting has become urgent on my Sylvi coat project!! I have been clacking the needles like mad and have finished the back of my coat. The light doesn't show the lovely cables so well.

Also have half of one of the front panels done. Hope to finish it today, and am hoping that by the end of the weekend the whole coat will be completed... It needs to be because I need to wear it to keep warm!

Its birthday season! 10 children from our antenatal group are turning 3 in the next couple of months.  I went to look at birthday cards today but couldn't justify spending $55- on birthday cards, so have decided to make my own.  Much fun!  Here's one of the cards I made - a cute owl... 

Dolls Dolls Dolls

I've been knitting like mad - the first of the 7 girls' birthdays is this week so I have had to get the dolls finished.  Here is Grace...

I am madly knitting Amy, the last one, but fear I won't have her finished before I give away the first doll, so below is a group shot of all of the girls.  Will be so glad when I finish the last one & can get on with some other projects!!

 

Charli and I took a road trip on a very cold week... the snow was on the mountains - here's Mt Ruapehu covered in a blanket of snow

We went on the road trip to make a new addition to the family - a puppy - a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel... meet Oscar.  He is just 2 weeks old at the moment.  He will come to us in about 8 weeks time - isn't he gorgeous?!
