Friday Friday

Yay its the end of the week and a long Bank Holiday weekend ahead of us.  Frodo, one of our 3 cats, is looking unimpressed about it!  I haven't been doing much knitting this last couple of weeks, been preparing the house for a puppy - we have a dog breeder for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels coming to visit our place this weekend.  Very exciting!  However, I have managed to finish another doll - this is Macy.  Just 2 more to go now!

Charli's Poppy

I blocked and unravelled Charli's Poppy's hair today - it came out really curly as I'd hoped.  So its now sewn onto her head and Charli's Poppy is complete.

Sylvi

Its a rotten wet & windy day here, but at least I have an excuse to knit!!  I'm currently making a woollen coat with lots of lovely cables on the back in kind of a flowery vine.  The pattern is 'Sylvi' by Mari Muinonen (on Twist Collective online knitting magazine). I've done about a third of the back of the coat and am really pleased with the results.  I'm yet to make the petals for the flowers which will be sewn on later (am making these in purple to contrast with the fabulous cherry red).

Charli's Poppy

Having a lovely day today - just been to the beach for an icecream and a walk.  The Autumn sunshine is out and its pleasantly warm.  This is Charlotte's Poppy - I have given her a little handbag and will be making her more accessories for my daughter's birthday - just got to sew on her hair which I'm currently blocking as a knitted piece to make curly locks!

Meet Poppy!

Hello on this gloriously sunny afternoon!  I have been making Poppy’s - a beautiful pattern by Ysolda for all of the little girls in our antenatal group who will turn 3 next month.  I think this doll has a real retro feel to it and takes me back to the days of being a little girl.  I’m trying to match up their hair, skintone, eyes and clothes to the actual children which will be cute - although trying to make curly hair is a bit challenging!  So far I have Ashleigh, Olivia and Sophie’s made and am madly knitting away at my daughter, Charlotte’s one.  I am loving knitting these up but am starting to think I am slightly mad as there are 7 girls in our group and time is running out quickly, plus my fingers are itchy to get going on knitting the lovely cabled coat I have sat half knitted in my craft cupboard at the moment. Add Image
